It’s hard to believe that Twitch Clips has been around already for a year. Twitch launched the feature on May 25, 2016 and since then the community has created over 70 million Clips and just over to 2.4 million hours of watch time. Some casters utilizing Clips have even seen an increase in their follower count by as much as 30%!
While Twitch has hinted at more changes coming for Clips in 2017, they’ve already changed so much since they were first introduced. Since launch they have added Clip Trimming, My Clips, Emote Reactions, and Chat Replay – all based off of feedback from the community!
To celebrate the milestone, Twitch is currently running a contest until Wednesday May 31st (11:59PM PT) where they’re giving away 125 limited edition Clips birthday t-shirts and a chance at winning a TwitchCon experience package for two! While this is pretty cool, it pains me from the bottom of my maple-syrup loving Canadian heart to say this is open to the U.S. only.
This contest is open to both streamers and viewers and all the details on how to enter, rules and regulations can be found on the Twitch blog. Don’t live in the United States? No problem! You can still unlock some brand new global emotes just for creating a clip before the end of the contest.
