NightDev, the developer behind the popular BetterTTV and NightBot, has decided to close the doors on StreamTip, their notification and tipping service.

Launching on July 15th, 2015, StreamTip was an early competitor to the notification market and charged a 2% fee or less depending on how often the service was used. This was low for the time and drew many to use the service. They were a major influence on the notification space and set the bar in many areas to the services streamers use today.

During late 2015, StreamTip went to a free service due to not meeting the market demand and the rise of competitors such as Streamlabs, StreamElements, Muxy, and others. With more popular options out there, the developer Night has decided to let the service go and focus on more current projects.
