This weekend, the 2016 St. Jude PLAY LIVE event kicked off with a new website and open registration. Although the prize season runs from April 29th – May 31st, interested participants can sign up today and begin raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The PLAY LIVE event partners St. Jude with Twitch to give prizes to streamers raising money and awareness for St. Jude and childhood cancer.
Participants can earn points for every dollar raised, sharing on Facebook and Twitter, and recruiting others to join. 50 points will earn you a St. Jude PLAY LIVE t-shirt and 500 points rewards a limited edition Twitch/St. Jude PLAY LIVE purple hoodie. Other prizes include Razer gear, GameStop giftcards, and a trip to the GameStop EXPO. More prizes are still to be announced.
St. Jude is changing the way people treat and understand childhood cancer. Research at St. Jude is always made public, so the rest of the world can help find better treatment and cures for cancer. With a goal to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90% by 2020, St. Jude relies mostly on individual donors. Families at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so their only focus can be for the child.
If interested, you can sign up as an individual or join a team. Teams carry an overall goal and can be great way to connect with other broadcasters while also increasing exposure to your channel. With a team, you will still have an individual page where your viewers can donate to and earn your own points.
Join Our PLAY LIVE Team
We’ve created a StreamerSquare team that anyone is welcome to join! This is our first charity event but we plan to expand in the future. Our team will be communicating in the StreamerSquare Discord, where you’ll get a special user role and access to private channels where you can collaborate, share ideas, and promote your St. Jude charity streams. We’re going to make sure to you get exposure for supporting an amazing charity.
