Animation Technique Comparison (1)

Animation Differences for VTubing. PNG: A PNG, or Portable Graphics Format, is a still image or piece of art that you can use as an avatar. You can set up your avatar to open their mouth when speaking or blink at random intervals. This is a good starting option when considering VTubing, to test the waters. Live2D: Live2D creates layered illustrations without needing frame-by-frame animations. Show a character’s movement, capture your expressions or eye movement, and will require a rigging and motion capture. Not the cheapest option, but popular and accessible. 3D: 3D animation takes digital objects and moves them through three-dimensional digital spaces. More aesthetically attractive, as it conveys more meaning behind each expression and movement. Typically the most expensive form of VTubing.
